Hats off to Representative Tackey Chan (D. Quincy) for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with Quincy YouthBuild staff and students on February 4th! Representative Chan talked about his family and what it was like growing up in Quincy. He shared information on his educational background, his career prior to becoming a state representative, and why he decided to run for office. He talked about the importance of having a strong work ethic and being well-rounded. He encouraged the young people to always read the newspaper to stay informed and up to date on current events. And he shared his wisdom that “arguments and disagreements don’t get to solutions”… and how essential it is to listen to others’ opinions, personal views and experiences.
