November 3 had been circled on the calendars of the Worcester staff for weeks as they prepared to move to a new location. That Monday, workers from Liberty Movers loaded and unloaded five truckloads of desks, equipment and moving crates. They transported them across Main Street to the new location at 2 Foster Street. Staff spent the day setting up shop in their new offices and classrooms.

The new site encompasses the entire third floor. In contract to the old location, this site is bright and modern, with high ceilings and plenty of space for Worcester’s many programs.

“With all TRA has accomplished for itself and its programs, I think this is a perfect step forward. I’m very excited to be here and know the students and staff alike really love coming to this place,” said Assistant Manager Christine Chandonnet, who supervised the move while manager Kristi Bruwer was away on maternity leave.

DESE programs coordinator Erica Simons said her students thanked her for their new space.

On January 9 the office held an open house for local agencies. Representatives from Central MA Regional Employment Board, Edward Street Child Services, PACE, DTA- Boston, and the YWCA enjoyed tours of the new facility.

TRA board members including Dan Kilgore, Marianna Riemer, Kathleen Marcum and new member Donald Mancini also attended the event and appreciated the improvement in the site.
